Hatsu is the lightest blend in our regular matcha collection, offering a crisp, refreshing experience. Its character is defined by a notable astringency and a clean, short aftertaste. When prepared as usucha (thin matcha), it showcases a sharp and invigorating personality.

Preparation Instructions

1. Sift the Matcha

   • Measure 2 g (0.07 oz) of matcha (1.5 heaping tea ladles or 1 level teaspoon).
   • Sift the matcha into a tea bowl using a fine tea strainer for a smooth, lump-free texture.

2. Add Hot Water

   • Heat 60 mL (2 oz) of water to 80°C (176°F).
   • Cool boiling water by pouring it into a teacup before adding it to your tea bowl.

3. Whisk

   • Whisk vigorously for 15 seconds in an "M" motion with a chasen (bamboo tea whisk) until a frothy, smooth consistency is achieved.
