Kotone Matcha – Uji Tea
Kotone is a premium-grade matcha, meticulously blended by a certified Japanese tea appraiser and instructor from Kobataen. This exceptional tea is not available in typical souvenir shops or retail stores—it's a rare and exclusive offering.
Awarded the Grand Gold Award at the International Tea Competition, Kobataen matcha is celebrated for its rich umami flavor and fragrant aroma.
Preparation Instructions:

Sift the matcha to break up any clumps.

Add 2 scoops (about 2g) of matcha into a tea bowl using a chashaku (bamboo scoop).

Pour 70ml of hot water at around 80°C (176°F) into the bowl.

Use a chasen (bamboo whisk) to mix and froth the matcha. Whisk briskly in a back-and-forth motion until a fine foam appears. Finish by drawing a gentle swirl (like the Japanese "の" character) and lift the whisk from the center.
