Matcha "Betsugi" – 30g
Matcha Betsugi is made using high-quality matcha from Nishio, a region renowned for its rich matcha cultivation. This matcha is a great introduction for those new to the world of traditional Japanese tea. Its smooth, approachable flavor makes it perfect not only for usucha (thin matcha), but also for modern drinks like matcha lattes—whether made with milk, soy milk, or your favorite plant-based alternative.
Key Features:
-
Made from carefully selected matcha grown in Nishio, one of Japan’s top matcha-producing regions.
-
Ideal for matcha beginners—easy to enjoy with a gentle flavor profile.
-
Versatile: Enjoy it traditionally as usucha, or get creative with lattes and other modern recipes.
How to Prepare Matcha (Usucha – Thin Matcha Style):
-
Sift 1 to 2 grams (about 1/2 to 1 teaspoon) of matcha into a matcha bowl (chawan) to remove clumps.
-
Heat water to about 75–80°C (170–175°F).
-
Add about 60–70 ml (2–2.5 oz) of hot water to the bowl.
-
Whisk briskly in a zigzag or “M” motion using a bamboo whisk (chasen) until a fine froth appears on the surface.
-
Enjoy immediately.
For a matcha latte, simply mix the sifted matcha with a small amount of hot water to make a paste, then add steamed milk of your choice and sweeten to taste.
