How to Prepare Matcha
-
Sift the Matcha: Measure about 2 grams (1 teaspoon) of matcha powder and sift it into a matcha bowl (chawan) to remove any clumps.
-
Add Water: Heat water to around 80°C (176°F). Pour approximately 60 ml (2 oz) of hot water into the bowl.
-
Whisk: Using a bamboo whisk (chasen), whisk the matcha in a rapid W or M motion until a frothy layer forms on the surface.
-
Enjoy: Sip and savor the rich umami and aroma of your perfectly prepared matcha.
