Body‑Friendly Fermented Syrup – Lemon / HAKKO SYRUP

This fermented lemon syrup is made using Setouchi lemons from Hiroshima Prefecture. With our unique fermentation method (symbiotic fermentation cultures), the lemons—including the peel—are fermented whole.

Because it is fermented over a short period, the syrup retains a rich, full lemon flavor and has a deep, concentrated taste.

Fermentation enhances digestibility and absorption, resulting in a flavorful, well‑rounded syrup.
We also blend in lactic acid bacteria derived from plum blossoms (Enterococcus faecalis), creating an original fermented syrup (to be diluted before drinking).

Made with beet sugar. No artificial coloring or preservatives.

About Lemons

The vitamin C in lemons is known for its strong antioxidant properties and is expected to help activate immune cells such as macrophages and NK cells.

How to Enjoy Fermented Lemon Syrup

Pour the syrup into a glass and dilute it with 3–4 times the amount of water (still or sparkling) or hot water. Mix well before drinking.

It is also delicious when mixed with shochu or other spirits.

Lactic acid bacteria pair very well with yogurt (which contains bifidobacteria), so combining the syrup with yogurt may enhance their synergistic effects.

You can also mix it with olive oil to create a fermented dressing.
It can be used as a sauce for meat or fish dishes as well.
